Last Saturday (30/09/17)…Brighton welcomed thousands of people walking in aid of Alzheimer’s Society as part their memory walks which have been taking place around the UK. After a nice breakfast at a nearby cafe to boost our energy levels, the myPlayLife team took on the 8km walk along the stunning seafront on Saturday morning.
The walk stretched from Hove to Brighton’s iconic pier and back again along Hove Promenade. Davina McCall and her father were two of many fundraisers. Davina’s father is currently living with Alzheimer’s and Davina has helped the charity raise awareness for all of their 34 memory walks, posting regularly on her social media accounts.
So far, myPlayLife has raised almost £950 which will go towards Alzheimer’s Society to help improve care, fund research and create a lasting change for people affected by dementia. Brighton alone has raised just short of £140,000!
It was a brilliant day and everyone enjoyed themselves; it was amazing to see so many people coming together and supporting each other and an even greater cause which has affected the lives of so many people. People of all ages, including dogs, came together and we made a furry friend along the way called Finn, sporting the Alzheimer’s Society t-shirt!
The myPlayLife team feel humbled and proud to be a part of something which will better the lives of others; it’s not too late to donate and any amount is greatly appreciated, we are very close to our target of £1,000!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to help us reach an amazing figure!
